Lump In Left Upper Chest And Aching When Touched?
Hello doctor, I want to ask if I have a fever before, I have a cold and now I have a cough … So on the left side of my chest there is a lump that I hold and it hurts. I went again to the hospital to just give me a cold medicine and antibiotics. But if that was not done this week, I had to go for surgery … What could that be?
Hello Nadira, thank you for asking.
When a person experiences an infection, such as an acute respiratory tract infection, inflammation of the lymph nodes (also called lymph nodes) in the surrounding area can occur. In respiratory infections, the lymph nodes around the neck can become inflamed and are marked by enlarged glands. Enlarged glands generally do not provide pain or provide minimal pain. Generally with healing respiratory infections, enlarged lymph nodes will also deflate by itself.
We do not know what kind of lump you are experiencing, so we do not know the possible diagnosis. However, it is possible, besides inflammation of the lymph glands, the lump may be a benign tumor mass. The doctor may suspect the lump as a benign tumor, if the treatment does not shrink. The mass may be acted upon by excision or biopsy. Depends on doctor's suspicion.
Please consult with your treating doctor to find out the possible diagnosis. The doctor will explain what actions might be taken, as well as profit and loss.
Thus a short answer from me, hopefully enough help. Regards.
