doctor. I’d like to ask. A few months ago a lump appeared in my groin. But it doesn’t hurt. I just let it go and it’s gone. Then recently the lump appeared again. When you hold it, the lump feels like a ball and is perfectly round. Incidentally I just finished chemo a few months ago for MDS treatment. Is the lump dangerous? Is this related to my treatment?

1 Answer:

Regards,

In MDS patients, complaints of lumps in the groin may be an enlarged lymph node. The condition of enlarged lymph nodes in MDS patients is clinically rare or is found as a comorbid symptom. So the possibility of chemotherapy action can also cause enlarged lymph nodes. However, this needs to be confirmed by the doctor who treats you.

So that the enlargement of these lymph nodes may be your body's immune response in receiving the chemotherapy process and this MDS journey.

Further evaluation of enlarged lymph nodes in the groin can be carried out by the treating doctor for other possibilities and medical implications. Thus the doctor who treats you can provide more precise information about this enlarged lymph node regarding the course of this MDS.

This is the information we can convey. See also MDS.
