Good morning, thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. Lumps on the chin, or around the neck, can appear due to various possibilities, such as:
Stones of the salivary glands Inflammation of the salivary glands Lipoma or abnormal growth of fatty tissue Swelling of the lymph nodes Excessive growth of skin Swelling of the thyroid gland
We think it is important for you to check with an ENT doctor so that an expert can do a direct physical examination of your condition. Regarding the harm or not, generally if it does not cause symptoms, it is usually not dangerous. However, it would be much better to do a direct physical examination before concluding. Your doctor may also perform investigations such as blood tests and the like if necessary.
Meanwhile, avoid pressing or touching the lump, consume more water, get adequate rest, and don't take drugs without a doctor's prescription. So, hopefully it answers your question.
