Hello doctor, I’m 16 years old, under my left armpit there is a soft lump like hiji salak but there is no pain, only pain in the upper left arm, what is this disease? Please help 😇
Lumps in the armpit accompanied by pain in the left arm, can be caused by several things, from minor causes such as bacterial skin infections, cysts, irritation from shaving tools, allergies due to the use of deodorants / fragrances, and skin changes due to friction between skin folds (skin tags) . Causes of more serious medical conditions that require special medical treatment such as enlarged lymph nodes due to viral infections, benign tumor growth (fibroadenoma), lymphoma, breast cancer, and leukemia.
To determine whether the cause of your complaint is a minor or serious medical condition, you need a direct medical examination with a doctor. The doctor will ask questions about your complaint, perform a physical examination, especially see and ascertain the characteristics of the lump in the armpit. If you find the possibility of a serious medical condition, your doctor may ask you to perform supporting tests such as blood tests, mammography (if you are a woman), CT scan / MRI. Treatment will be adjusted to the medical conditions found by the doctor.
Avoid picking, holding the bump too often. You can apply warm compresses to the area of the painful arm and take pain medication if the pain is unbearable.
