Lump Under The Tongue?
Good day doctor .. Want to ask. I have a lump below, but there isn’t any pain or pain. How is that? Need to check? Is it dangerous or not? Thank you.
Hello Firyal, thank you for the question.
Lump is an abnormal cell growth in the body. Lumps under the tongue can occur due to a process that is dangerous or harmless. Benign lumps or tumors under the tongue can generally heal on their own. Some causes of lumps under the tongue include:
Ranula, which is a fluid-filled sac due to obstruction of the salivary glands, can be small to large in size, located at the bottom of the mouth, and generally painless.
Mucocele, which is a fluid-filled sac that is non-malignant, located in the salivary glands in the oral cavity, on the lips, under the tongue, palate, inner cheeks, and others.
Salivary gland malignancy
and so forth.
Ranula and mucocele are the most common causes of lumps under the tongue and are generally harmless and can heal on their own, but in some cases they can persist and require special treatment. To determine the type of lump and its severity, it needs to be examined directly by a doctor. Therefore, as soon as possible consult a doctor, especially if the lump is felt to be getting bigger, progressive, or accompanied by symptoms of inflammation such as pain, redness, swelling, festering, difficulty opening the mouth, difficulty swallowing, and so forth. The doctor will conduct a thorough examination directly on the patient and supporting examinations if needed. Handling will be adjusted to the underlying conditions, the doctor may be able to give medicines to surgical procedures. To reduce complaints and prevent complaints from reappearing, we recommend:
Maintain oral hygiene, brush your teeth regularly, at least 2 times a day, after eating and before going to bed
Use dental floss or dental floss to clean between your teeth
Avoid squeezing or breaking lumps
Avoid too often consuming sweet and sticky foods
Drink enough water, at least 2 L per day.
Eat healthy and nutritious food
Avoid cigarettes and alcohol
Thus, hopefully it helps.
