Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Swallowing pain accompanied by fever can be caused by several possibilities, including:
pharyngitis or inflammation of the pharyngeal tonsillitis or inflammation of the tonsils peritonsillary abscess epiglotitis or inflammation of the epiglottis The lumps that you feel on your neck may be caused by enlarged lymph nodes. Enlargement of lymph nodes in the neck is very common in the conditions mentioned above. You don't need to worry too much about a lump in your neck because it is likely that the lump will disappear after the cause of your swallowing pain and fever is resolved. To overcome the pain of swallowing and your fever, of course you must first look for the exact cause. In your condition, you should immediately conduct an examination to the ENT doctor for further treatment. If there is inflammation of the pharynx, tonsils, or epiglottis that is suspected to be caused by a bacterial infection, chances are your doctor will recommend giving antibiotic therapy. If an abscess is found, then in addition to antibiotic therapy, your doctor may also suggest pus removal from the abscess. Examination should not be delayed because if your infection is caused by a bacterial infection, you can experience more serious complications such as disorders of the joints, heart, and kidneys.
