Hi Heni,

Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.

The bumps on your tongue can be caused by a variety of conditions. Complaints about bad breath caused by these lumps certainly make you uncomfortable and you lack confidence to socialize for a day. So that handling is needed. But of course the handling is in accordance with the cause of the complaint. Some of the conditions that can be considered regarding the cause of the bumps on the tongue are as follows:

The presence of bacterial infection of the tongue due to previous wounds and lack of hygiene in handling the wound on the tongue.

There are medical conditions that cause impaired healing of wounds, for example in people with diabetes mellitus (diabetes) or other chronic diseases

Ranula. Namely, cysts or benign tumors that form in the salivary glands. Generally it can form on the lower tongue.

Sialolithiasis, also known as salivary gland stones.

Tongue cancer

Cancer of the salivary glands

The presence of infection and inflammation of the airways

Sinusitis. Inflammatory conditions in the sinus spaces around the face and if an infection occurs, it can cause bad breath complaints.

The conditions above can cause complaints of lumps that appear on the tongue. It is necessary to check the characteristics of the lump starting from the size, color, location, consistency of the lump to determine the type of lump. It is recommended that you do a consultation and direct examination to the doctor considering that the lump has been going on for 6 months and if necessary, tissue examination of the lump. Thus, treatment can be done according to your condition.

That's what I can say, hopefully it's useful.

Greetings, dr. Tiwi
