Lumps Or Puffiness Appear On The Skin Of The Cheeks?
Hello. I want to ask. On my left cheek, swollen like pimples but large in size. I thought it might be pimples but the swelling had already come out pus 2 times. I’m worried it’s not acne. Do you think the doctor is pimples or not? Thank you
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
The appearance of a lump or swollen festering on the cheek skin can be acne. Acne does not always appear in the form of blackheads or papules (reddish nodules), but can also be in other manifestations, such as pustules (pusy bumps), nodules (reddish bumps that feel painful), or cysts (watery lumps). This pimple arises due to inflammation of the pilosebaceous glands due to bacterial infection of P. acne, excessive production of sebum (oil), hormonal fluctuations, and various other factors.
Not only acne, several other conditions, for example folliculitis (hair root infection), miliaria (prickly heat), contact dermatitis (inflammation of the skin due to contact with irritative or allergenic substances), benign or malignant tumors on the skin, etc. can also cause complaints as well that you experience.
Our advice, before your complaint gets worse, you should consult a doctor or skin specialist directly. Usually, just by checking the lump or swelling directly, the doctor can give you the best treatment. However, if deemed necessary, the doctor can also direct you to undergo further tests, for example a biopsy.
For now, here are our initial suggestions:
Does not break forcefully the swelling or bumps that appear
When pus comes out, clean the pus with clean gauze moistened with liquid NaCl
Do not hold swelling or bump with dirty hands
Clean facial skin regularly 2 times a day using mild cleansing soap
Don't use cosmetics too thick
Choose facial skin care products that suit your skin type, including cleansing soap, moisturizer, sunscreen, toner, cosmetics, and so on
Drink plenty of water, eat fruits and vegetables
Enough sleep and regular
Live a healthy lifestyle
Hope this helps ...
