Management Of High Uric Acid?
Hello doctor, good night. 2 days ago I did a general check-up including blood / laboratory tests, heart records and chest radiographs. thank God all within normal limits, it’s just that my gout yields are 5.4 while the normal values are 3.5 – 5.7. What I want to ask, do I have to take gout medication just to stabilize it, for example just taking 3 times? Or is it enough just to maintain the pattern of life? Given the many temptations that exist hehe. Thank you.
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Basically, if your uric acid examination results are within the normal range, it means that your blood uric acid is indeed normal and there is no need for treatment with any medication to stabilize your gout. Gout medicines should not be taken carelessly (like drinking only 3 times) and should only be taken if there are clear indications for taking them.
To keep your gout in the normal range, you only need to keep your diet. Reduce eating foods that contain lots of purines which also includes unhealthy foods like organ meats. Other high purine foods such as red meat and seafood, you may still eat as usual, considering that your uric acid is also still in normal levels. Other foods / drinks that you also need to reduce because they can interfere with purine metabolism in the body are alcohol, sugary foods / drinks that contain lots of sugar, and high fat foods (especially those that contain unhealthy fats).
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
