Management Of Miscarriages After 10 Weeks Of Gestation?
Hello, on November 19, 2018 my wife miscarried after 10 weeks of pregnancy, at that time I took my wife to the hospital and on USG and the result was that my wife’s fetus was still intact and developed until 10 weeks 4 days, and my wife was told to go back to the clinic a week after the previous examination ,, and we went back to the hospital for a re-examination and the result was my wife’s fetus had shrunk to 7 weeks 0 day, and the doctor said our prospective child was gone (already out) and he said still there is a fetal bag just empty … but my wife has no bleeding and no contractions from her stomach … is it safe or dangerous … because the doctor here does not give any references to kurek or so on, and is not given medicine
Good morning, thanks for the question
Abortion is the threat or release of the results of conception in pregnancy less than 20 weeks or fetal weight. less than 500 grams.
Types of abortion include:
1. Imminent abortion is an abortion at the beginning, where there is bleeding and no opening, the result of conception is still good in the womb.
2. Abortion insipiens is a threatening abortion where there is an opening but the results of the conception are still in the womb.
3. incomplete abortion is part of the conception has come out of the womb but still
some are left behind.
4. Complete abortion is the entire conception has come out of the uterus in pregnancy less than 20 weeks.
In addition to symptoms and internal examinations, an ultrasound examination, BHCG examination, and routine blood tests are done to help with the diagnosis.
If the symptoms and examinations that occur are incomplete abortion, where there is still residual conception in the uterus, accompanied by mild or moderate bleeding and pregnancy <16 weeks, can use a finger or ring forcep to remove the conception sticking out of the cervix. If heavy bleeding and gestational age <16 weeks, the contents of the uterus are evacuated. Manual vacuum aspiration (AVM) is the recommended method. Sharp curettage is performed if AVM is not available.
Whereas if the condition is complete abortion where there is no bleeding and no residual results of conception, then it does not require special treatment. Only if you suffer from anemia need to be given sulfas ferosus and it is recommended that the food contains lots of protein, vitamins and minerals.
Consult again with an obstetrician who handles your case if you are in doubt, or you can also do a second opinion with another doctor.
That's all, hope you can help
