Management Of Scabies Around The Genitals That Recur?
Hello, I want to ask about the scabies I experienced in the genitals … I have been infected for almost a month and have tried to treat it with scabimite ointment. I read on the internet that its use must be done once a week in the first week and indeed the bump disappears and leaves a blackish mark on the skin. but bumps appear again in other places that form a line leading to the buttocks … I want to treat it again with ointment but it’s not been a week yet is that okay? Because of the strong drug scabimite I am afraid there are side effects if used for less than a week, let alone infected in sensitive genital skin
Scabies / scabies is a skin disease caused by S scabiei mites that can be transmitted through direct contact or intermediary clothing or items of the patient. Scabies can cause complaints of rashes or spots that feel itchy and more itchy at night. Rashes are often found in the area around the genitals, groin, and body folds.
Examination to confirm scabies is by history, physical examination, and skin scraping tests if necessary. Treatment of scabies can be with permethrin, ivermectin, and drugs to reduce itching such as antihistamines.
The medicine you use contains permethrin. This drug is a prescription drug whose use must be based on doctor's advice and under the supervision of a doctor. This drug kills adult mites, but does not kill mite eggs. Therefore treatment is done 2x (1x a week). Are you using drugs correctly? This drug is used throughout the body and allowed to stand for at least 8 hours and then repeated its use 1 week later to kill the remaining mites that have just hatched. Within 2 weeks usually the complaint has improved, but itching can still be felt until a few weeks later. To reduce itching, doctors can give antihistamines.
I suggest that you see a doctor directly so that further tests can be done to ascertain your complaint. You must be careful in using permethrin, especially in the genital area. You should not use permethrin without a doctor's supervision.
To help the treatment process, you can do the following tips:
cold compresses to reduce itching Dry the mattress in the sun Soak clothes and toiletries with hot water before washing Do not change clothes with others Keep room clean If there are family members who have 1 room or 1 house, should also be checked to prevent repeated transmission Hopefully can help you,
