Measles Immunization When The Baby Is Still Taking Antibiotics?
At night, my child was born 29 November 17, so he is 9 months 5 days old. before the 29th the child had a fever for 3 days after that it subsided given sanmol, but the fever returned and was accompanied by cough, rash and diarrhea. I took it to the doctor and gave it powder with the contents of Istanol Vecrinel et al. there is also daryazinc syrup. on 2 sept 18 thank God the fever and diarrhea have subsided, but the powder is still there, and the doctor said that it must be finished. while my child, on September 4 18, wanted measles immunization. can my child be immunized? while my child still drinks powder from the doctor?
Good morning, thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. The powder that is given to your child, most likely there is also an antibiotic in it. This is what causes the powder that is consumed by your child to be finished even though his condition has improved, because antibiotics should not be left behind. The remaining antibiotics will potentially leave bacteria that infect your child's body, which later on these bacteria can become more troublesome and more difficult to remove because he has 'learned' from previous antibiotics.
Then regarding your concern, so far there is no absolute prohibition from immunization, especially measles immunization, that the sufferer should not be consuming powder. If you are worried about antibiotics or other ingredients of the powder that can affect the performance of the vaccine, it doesn't matter, because antibiotics are for bacteria while the measles vaccine is from a virus.
So the point is it doesn't matter, but if you still have something to worry about or doubt, it's okay if you ask the pediatrician directly to avoid misunderstanding. So, hopefully it answers your question.
