Medical Check-up Results Of Nearsightedness?
Good morning, last November 21st, I just finished MCU, to register for work, and there is an eye check procedure, after I read it again there is written like this: OD 20 / 70OS 20/40 Is there something wrong? And are my eyes normal?
Thank you for the question.
MCU (medical check-up) can be done with a variety of procedures depending on the needs and policies of the organizing institution. In the MCU, it can also be done a sharp examination of eye sight, or in the medical realm called the visual aquity test, the results can be as you mentioned.
Referring to your statement, you can explain the following conditions:
OD (okuli dextra, right eye) 20/70
That is, your right eye is able to see objects at a distance of 20 feet, whereas people with normal sharp vision can see it at a greater distance, which is 70 feet (1 foot = 0.3 meters)
OS (okuli sinistra, left eye) 20/40
That is, your left eye is able to see objects at a distance of 20 times, whereas people with normal sharp eyesight are able to see it at a distance of 40 feet
If concluded only from this information, you may experience nearsightedness (myopia, minus eye), which needs to be corrected by the use of special minus glasses or contact lenses. However, this interpretation of the results of a sharp examination of vision certainly cannot be done alone, but must also be compared with other examinations carried out. Because, there are also many other conditions that can cause decreased eye vision, such as uveitis, cataracts, keratitis, and so on. Therefore, it is more appropriate if you consult this directly to the doctor or eye doctor who examined you.
I hope this helps.
