Good morning. Okay, I want to ask, can the drug of tranexamic acid stop vaginal discharge in patients with cervical cancer? Please explain.

1 Answer:

Hello Via, thank you for asking.

Tranexamic acid is a fibrinolytic group drug whose function is to stop bleeding. This drug is given to people with conditions that cause bleeding. In cervical cancer, bleeding easily occurs due to fragile cervical mucosa. Quite a lot of bleeding, if left untreated will cause anemia so that it worsens the condition of people with cervical cancer. Therefore, this drug is used to treat further bleeding, not to stop vaginal discharge. Leucorrhoea and the mechanism of action of this drug are not related.

Hopefully this answer can help. Regards.
