I want to ask, I am 16 years old. Yesterday I took part in a tug of war competition. After the race was over, my upper right hand hurt my shoulders and above my waist before my right also hurt. I already compressed it with ice cubes and gave it a patch but it didn’t heal. Now it hurts even more. What do you think the solution is?

1 Answer:

Hello Lia, Thank you for the question.

Sports activities can cause muscle pain and this complaint can happen to anyone. This complaint can occur in any body muscle depending on which sports activity involves the muscles of the body. This muscle pain can be caused by excessive sports activities that force the muscles to work, injury to the muscles, or muscle tension. In general, this muscle pain can last for several days and does not require special medical treatment.

You can do the following suggestions:

Apply ice to the sore muscle for 15 minutes and can be repeated several times a day. Do this ice pack for the first 3 days of taking paracetamol if the pain is unbearable, resting the affected part, avoid activities / activities that cause the movement of the sore muscles to rest sufficiently to manage stress well These complaints usually don't go away in a day or two but will get better along with the time. Please do the recommendations above. If this complaint does not improve after one week or even gets worse, don't hesitate to consult a doctor for further examination and treatment.

Hope this information is helpful.
