Menstruation Is Not Smooth Only In The Form Of Spots But Prolonged?
I am 30 years old and already married. I want to ask, I also have complaints from 2 months ago, I did not have menstruation smoothly, and after 2 months, only spots occurred yesterday, on the 11th, I have menses until the 17th, so until now I still have spots. Is there any recommendation for me to pap smear or not?
Hello Rere, thanks for asking.
Menstrual disorders can be abnormal cycles, abnormal menstrual lengths, bleeding between two menstrual cycles, or abnormal menstrual blood volume. The distance between two menstruation normally is 21-35 days, with menstrual period 2-7 days, and there are no spots between the two periods.
Menstrual disorders can be caused by several things, for example:
Impaired reproductive hormone balance. Hormonal imbalances other than reproductive hormones. Disorders of the reproductive organs. For example; endometriosis, myoma, or ovarian cyst. Psychic stress. Weight below or above normal. Abnormal eating patterns, such as anorexia or too strict diet. The effect of certain drugs. Contraceptive effect. Chronic disease Active smokers, alcoholics, and drug abuse. You may only do pap smear because you have sex. However, please be aware that spots outside your period do not always produce problematic results in Pap smear examination. Pap smear is performed to look for signs of malignancy, infection, or irritation of the vagina and cervix. All of these abnormalities may or may not cause spots.
Improve your diet and rest patterns. Try to exercise regularly 3-5 times a week, for 30 minutes. Know your stress factors and minimize them. Maintain body weight within the normal range. Consult this matter with your obstetrician. Your doctor may do an ultrasound and do an analysis of blood samples. The doctor will also suggest when is the best time to do Pap smear.
Hopefully this answer can help you. Regards.
