Mumps Other Than Surgery.?
Good afternoon, I’m a 21-year-old woman. I want to ask besides surgery. There is no cure for goiter in the form of pills or syrup. I got a goiter since 2015 and that’s it. Mumps that are not sick but getting bigger, now have big clumps of hands. Thank you
Thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
Need to be clear, what kind of goiter do you experience? Have you ever seen a doctor? What is the diagnosis that the doctor made of your complaint? Are there certain treatments that doctors recommend?
Goiter (goiter) is formed due to an enlarged thyroid gland. The thyroid gland itself is a pair of organs located in the front of the neck, whose job is to produce the hormone thyroxine, which is an important function in regulating the body's metabolism. Mumps can occur due to various factors, for example:
Grave's disease (an autoimmune disorder that causes the hormone thyroxine to be overproduced)
Hashimoto's disease (an autoimmune disorder that causes decreased thyroxine hormone production)
Silitary thyroid nodules
Thyroid cancer (malignant cancer of the thyroid gland)
Thyroiditis (inflammation of the thyroid gland), and so on
Not all goiter must be treated with surgery. Various other types of treatment, ranging from mere observation, administration of drugs, to radioactive iodine therapy can also be done to overcome this condition, of course, depending on the cause and severity of the disease. Unfortunately, you do not clarify exactly what kind of goiter you are experiencing. As a result, it was difficult for us to identify what was the best way to handle it.
Our advice, you first check your complaint to a doctor or a specialist in internal medicine, yes. A good doctor will only give you the best treatment so that your condition does not lead to dangerous complications.
For now, all you need to do:
Do not carelessly massage the goiter
Consumption of sufficient iodine (iodine needs in healthy adults usually ranges from 150 micrograms per day), such as from seafood, salt containing berodine, cow's milk, yogurt
Always live a healthy lifestyle
Not also carelessly taking medicine without doctor's advice
Hope this helps ...
