Mushrooms On The Groin?
Hello. I want to ask. Is there a drug in the pharmacy that can reduce the itching caused by fungus in my groin? Lately, every time I wake up, I think it’s just an itch. Scratching until finally bleeding again. I would like to ask about the name of the medicine available at the pharmacy, if I check with a doctor, it can’t be done because there is no funding. Please answer the doctor, thanks
Hello Agil, Thank you for the question.
Complaints of itching in the groin area is not necessarily caused by fungal infections. In addition to fungal infections of the skin, itchy complaints can be caused by:
contact dermatitis eczema, which is inflammation of the skin due to contact with substances or ingredients that cause allergies or irritation of psoriasis, that is skin inflammation that lasts for a long time. A doctor's examination is more necessary to determine the cause of these symptoms so that the treatment given is more appropriate. The doctor needs to ask about your symptoms, examine your skin, and if necessary do a skin scraping and biopsy. After ascertaining the cause, the doctor can provide treatment according to the condition. If it is caused by a fungal infection, the doctor will give antifungal drugs, can be in the form of ointments or oral medication, but if caused by other conditions then the treatment will be different. If you experience financial problems, you can use BPJS facilities.
In the meantime, please avoid scratching your itchy skin. You can use salicyl powder or calamine lotion to relieve itching but avoid using it on the injured skin. You are also advised to avoid the habit of using tight pants and avoid sharing personal items with others such as towels or clothing. Please wear underwear that is easy to absorb sweat and always dry the genitals and buttocks area after cleaning it.
I hope this helps.
