My Scab Is Peeling And The Wound Is Dry But Pink?
, this is a scab that I peeled off and the wound is dry but how pink is it, how long does it take for it to be like the usual skin color and what do you give it to make the pink disappear
Hello, maul123, thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
Scabs or crusts are blood fluids that dry up and harden due to the influence of external temperatures and serve to protect the wound. In most cases, scabs that are dry will flake off on their own and can leave the skin underneath a pink color. This is a natural thing as a result of the inflammation that occurred beforehand.
Skin that is lighter in color than the surroundings (called hypopigmentation) is caused by a lack of melanin pigment, this can be due to a history of previous inflammation, or a series of skin diseases such as vitiligo, infection by tinea versicolor, infection by the bacteria mycobacterium leprae (leprosy), and etc. If there are a lot of skin disorders, causing numbness, causing itching, or getting bigger / wider from time to time, then you should check with your doctor to find out the exact cause.
Now you can keep the scabs clean by not scratching / touching them especially if you don't wash your hands and keep them moisturized by applying a moisturizer that matches your skin (eg aloe vera gel). The lighter skin tone can return to normal in a few days. If within a few days it does not go away and you feel disturbed, you can consult a doctor. Here is an article on "how to get rid of scabs", it can be read for additional information.
That's all, hopefully it's useful.
Greetings, dr. Sarah Rizqia.
