Myth / Fact?
Afternoon, Want to ask? N nWhat is the myth / fact if smokers who drink bitter coffee cause swelling of the lungs u0026amp; cause a greater risk of heart disease? Thankyou
Good morning, thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. On its own, coffee in normal levels actually has health benefits. The benefits of coffee start from reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes, reducing the risk of depression, liver disease, increasing the work of the brain, to maintaining a slim body because of its effect which can speed up the body's metabolism.
But when used together, coffee and cigarettes are a bad combination. The effect of coffee is to increase blood flow and speed up heart rate, while the effect of smoking is to reduce blood vessels. Things like this cause the heart to work to increase, and in the long term, can cause heart failure.
But regardless, smokers are already at great risk for lung infections, lung damage, cancer, heart attacks, heart failure, and dozens of other diseases with or without coffee consumption. So don't misunderstand that the focus is not on whether to consume cigarettes with coffee or not, but on not smoking at all, regardless of whether or not it is combined with anything, at any age, gender or race. So, hopefully it answers your question.
