Hello Ennyn, thank you for asking HealthReplies.com.
Soya milk / soy milk is a source of protein, vitamins A, D and B12 and high folic acid. Soy milk contains phytoestrogens which work like estrogen in the human body. There is no strong evidence to prove that phytoestrogens in soy milk taken by pregnant women can cross the placenta and affect the fetus. Estrogen is a female hormone, but that does not mean that excess estrogen causes feminine behavior. The more worrisome effects on excess estrogen in men are impaired reproductive function and difficulty getting offspring. But still the effect of soy milk consumption on the reproductive function of conceived boys is still controversial. In some countries such as Britain, Australia and Switzerland pregnant women are not advised to consume soy milk. But in general, consumption of soy milk is allowed if it is not excessive and does not cause allergies.
