Nasal Congestion, Feels Slimy When In Cold Weather?
Good night, in the past few years my nose always hurts, after that it’s blocked and slimy like someone has the flu, but only briefly, just a day feels like a cold. I feel this condition when I am in cold temperatures, after consuming cold food / drinks, and when I am doing daily activities or even sports then my nose feels cold, it must feel pain and feel the flu for a moment. But, when I’m in normal / warm temperature or when my nose doesn’t feel cold, I don’t feel the pain. I wonder what pain I feel? Please help, thank you.
Hello! Thank you for the question on HealthReplies.com
Complaints of pain and colds that you experience can be a sign of inflammation in the nasal area, which can be based on the following medical conditions:
Allergic rhinitis: can be triggered by exposure to allergens such as dust, pollen, animal hair, etc.) Vasomotor rhinitis: due to an imbalance of the nervous system in the nasal area, symptoms are often in the form of colds and nasal congestion alternating between the right and left sides, triggers can be the influence of cold temperatures or heat, air pressure, smoke, pollution, etc. Viral / bacterial rhinitis, due to bacterial infection of the nasal passages Sinusitis / inflammation of the sinuses Nasal polyps: benign tumors of the nose
To ascertain a definite cause, of course it is necessary to do a direct physical examination and if necessary a supporting examination, in addition to exposure to symptoms. For that you should check yourself to a general practitioner. If necessary, the doctor will refer you to a particular specialist for further tracking.
In the meantime, what you should do is:
Identify all exposures that are felt to trigger your complaints, and avoid as much as possible Control as much as possible cold exposure on your body, can by using warm clothes and hats, or reduce the air conditioner if you use it in the rooms where you are in. Use a mask when you are in a dusty place, or leave the house to prevent inhalation of pollution Consumption of enough water, which is 2 liters per day Sufficient consumption of your food as needed, many fruits and vegetables to enhance immunity
That's all the explanation from me, hopefully it helps and useful :)
