Natural Treatment For Cataracts In Old Age?
, I asked my father aged 67 years and his left eye in half a year was blurred, after checking it turned out to be a cataract but because my father had heart disease, so the doctor said even though the surgery was very thin and could even refer to blindness directly. is there a natural treatment or eye drops that doctors can recommend to prevent cataracts from worsening?
Hello Khany, thank you for asking.
Cataract is a cloudiness in the lens of the eye that causes a decrease in vision function. Generally, cataracts are caused by age factors and certain chronic diseases, such as diabetes mellitus. Besides cataracts may also be caused due to injury, exposure to chemicals, or the use of eye drops containing corticosteroids for a long time. Some risk factors can increase the occurrence of cataracts in a person, for example:
Exposure to UV light
Cataracts cause gradual loss of vision. At first the view will look foggy in some fields. Increasingly expanding. Difficult to read and see in dim light. Sensitive to bright light.
After the cataract is formed, the only way to overcome it is by surgical removal and replacement of the eye lens. There is no research evidence which suggests that vitamin and mineral supplements can eliminate cataracts. However, increased intake of diverse vegetables and fruit, can slow the worsening of cataracts. Stop smoking and alcohol if your father does consume both. Keep blood sugar levels and blood pressure within the normal range. Maintain body weight to prevent obesity. Use sunglasses when going out during the day.
So little information that I can convey, hopefully useful. Regards.
