Neck Lumps Without Symptoms?
The existence of a lump in the neck can be caused by various factors, so what Astri experienced was not necessarily lymphoma (cancer of the lymph nodes). Neck lumps can also be caused by various other medical conditions such as
Swollen lymph nodes, almost everyone may experience this, especially when the body's immune system decreases or is experiencing pain due to infection. Usually when the body's condition is back to its prime and the infection has been resolved, the lymph node enlargement will shrink or even disappear by itself. Lumps in this condition are generally not accompanied by pain. Lipoma, is an abnormal growth of fatty tissue. However, lipoma is not cancer and is not dangerous. Lipoma is also not accompanied by pain. Fibroma, or a benign tumor originating from a tissue called fibrous. In general, lumps due to fibroma are not accompanied by pain and are not dangerous if left untreated. Dermoid cysts, which are abnormal growths of tissue that usually appear on the face, scalp, and neck. Dermoid cysts will grow slowly under the surface of the skin or on the surface of the skin and will get harder. Warts, these bumps occur due to infection with the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), where the virus will attack the skin layer so that eventually the skin will harden and cause thickening to lumps.
So Astri does not need to worry too much and think it is lymphoma, but once Astri should immediately see a doctor so that further evaluation can be done to determine what lump Astri is actually experiencing. Doctors still need sufficient information to be able to confirm a diagnosis (medical conditions), therefore a focused medical interview and also a medical examination will be very helpful to dig up more information needed.
