Never Menstruate Until The Age Of 23 Years?
I want to ask, I’m 23 years old now. and I haven’t had my period yet. you could say I’m still like a child. even though I have never experienced menstruation. when I was 19 I had examined it, but a doctor said that everything was normal. even when I was using my uterus I was fine. there are no signs of cysts or the like. The question is, is there something to be checked or are there signs of a very serious illness? and is there a solution? thank you….
Hello, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com
You haven't menstruated at all even though you are over 16 years old, called primary amenorrhea in the medical language. Many things can be the cause, including:
1. Congenital defects of reproductive organs.
2. Very less weight.
3. Excessive stress.
4. Growth disorders
5. Brain tumors
6. And others, you can read more here.
Don't ignore this condition. Immediately consult with a gynecologist. You will need a lot of checks. Starting from simple tests such as routine blood, hormone testing, ultrasound of the reproductive system, CT scan of the head and others. The doctor who treats you directly will direct you to undergo the examinations as needed.
Thus hopefully useful.
