No Appetite And No Hunger?
please give an explanation. I am a 22 year old woman of 156 weight + -54. It’s been around 1 week that I feel no appetite and rarely hungry (stomach rarely sounds). When eating even a little (1 apple or biscuits and dates) is enough for me. I have no activity. Only at home so I think my calorie needs must be small. And I often give suggestions that what I eat is enough to make me full. And my weight is also stable at 52-55kg. And I don’t feel dizzy or anything. Is my thinking correct. Because my family often tells me to eat more and says I look thin.
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
If your height is 156 cm and your weight is 54 kg, then your body mass index is 22.2 which is included in the normal weight group (to find out more about your body mass index, you can read the following link). This means that objectively you are not thin.
However, you also need to know that nutritional needs cannot be assessed only from a stable body weight. Humans also need nutrients in the form of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals that can not be fulfilled just by eating 1 apple, 1 biscuit, and 1 date only. You should indeed improve the quality of your meal. For adults, 1/4 of your plate must be filled with carbohydrate sources, 1/4 must be filled with protein sources, 1/2 must be filled with vegetables and fruits, also complete with healthy oils, and make sure you also drink in quantities enough (2-3 liters a day). Here is an article about how to meet balanced nutrition that you can read.
Not meeting balanced nutrition can cause you to experience health problems due to deficiency of certain proteins and vitamins and minerals.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
