Normal Values of Spirometry Measurements?
I want to ask, what is normal spirometry?
Spirometry is a method of measuring lung capacity. This test is indicated in people diagnosed with bronchial asthma, acute bronchitis, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis, or other conditions that affect lung capacity. Spirometry is also intended for people who are undergoing treatment for a lung disorder, to assess whether there is progress or improvement in a person's lung function.
Many parameters can be measured by spirometry. This includes the total lung capacity, expiratory volume, inspiration volume, and how fast expiration is taking place. Therefore, you should be more specific in asking which parameters you want to know, because each parameter has a different boundary value. If you are a practitioner of health sciences, you can refer to the medical physiology or pulmonology books. Please remember that spirometry values are influenced by gender, age, race, and physical activity.
Hopefully this answer can help. Regards.
