Hello Victoria, thank you for consulting us on HealthReplies.com.
Almost every person has experienced a nosebleed, but nosebleeds are usually often experienced by children aged 3-10 years, elderly, pregnant women, people with blood disorders and people who take blood-thinning drugs. Usually a common cause of nosebleeds is the condition of the air is too dry or the habit of digging the nose too often and deeply. However, too often or accompanied by other symptoms causing nosebleeds should not be ruled out, other causes associated with nosebleeds include:
infections that make nasal congestion like the flu
excessive use of nasal spray
abnormal nasal anatomy (due to injury or heredity)
serious nose injury
blow your nose too tight
There is a good idea to bring your younger sibling to consult with an ENT doctor to have a complete examination of your sister. And what you need to know about nosebleeds is the correct initial handling of nosebleeds, including:
Sit up straight and don't lie down if your nose is still bleeding
the body is leaning forward so that blood coming out of the nose does not enter the throat because if blood is swallowed it can trigger vomiting
push the base of the nose for at least 10-15 minutes, and while breathing through the mouth
after that the base of the nose is given a cold compress so that bleeding does not occur again
Thus we can convey, hopefully our explanation can be useful for your family.
