Good morning, thanks for asking at HealthReplies.com. The condition when someone inhales something they feel is not like other people feel it, called parosmia. Parosmia can occur due to various causes, including:
Viral or bacterial infections Nervous system disorders Head injuries Inhalation of cigarette smoke or exposure to other chemicals Side effects of certain drugs Tumors and cancer
As for the fever, cough and other complaints, this may or may not be related to the scent complaints that you have. This can only be known by doing a direct examination, and for that we suggest you should check yourself with a neurologist. Your doctor will do a history, physical examination and maybe support if necessary. The handling you will receive later depends on the results of the inspection.
Meanwhile, there is really nothing you can specifically do at home because each cause has its own treatment. You might be able to look for aromatherapy or other odors that you feel comfortable with, and carry them everywhere so that if you feel that unpleasant odor, you can immediately inhale the aromatherapy that you carry. So, hopefully answering your question.
