One Kind Of TB Drug Was Missed?
Good afternoon, I am taking medication tb. Last night there was one TB drug that I forgot to take. Pyrazinamide type. I just remembered now. What should I do? Can I drink it now? Do I have to repeat taking medicine from the start?
Good evening, thanks for the question
The rules for taking anti-tuberculosis drugs (OAT) do have to be routinely for a certain period, ie for at least 6 months or more. Drinking rules must also be considered in order to be metabolized properly and minimize side effects. If you have forgotten to take TB medicine for 1 day, you can continue the treatment accordingly. This means that it does not need to be repeated from the beginning of treatment. But that does not mean afterwards can skip taking drugs again. TB germs can be susceptible to resistance to standard TB treatment if treatment is interrupted or not routine. If it is resistant then the treatment will be far more difficult and longer, and certainly costly. Therefore, consume regularly and wisely TB drugs in accordance with doctor's recommendations until treatment is declared complete.
That's all, hope you can help
