Overcoming Excessive Itching In The Stomach When 38 Weeks Pregnant?
Doctor, I am 38 weeks pregnant now, and have an itch in the stomach area (under the navel), until it wrinkles like a kaffir lime skin. Are these conditions reasonable? It feels very itchy and sore even though not blisters. The obstetrician said that Herocyn powder could be smeared, but this feeling never stopped. Is there an ointment that I can rub into my stomach to cure the itch? Thank you
Itchy skin is one of the complaints that are often experienced by pregnant women, especially in the third trimester of pregnancy. This is caused by stretching the skin as the content increases and increasing blood supply to the skin, most likely this is what causes changes in your skin. The emergence of itching often occurs in the abdomen, breasts, hands and feet.
The itching is still classified as normal, however this condition can indeed cause discomfort or feel so heavy that it requires treatment. Here are some ways to deal with itching in pregnancy:
Using a skin moisturizer Compressing itchy parts with ice wrapped in a towel / cloth Using loose, soft and comfortable clothing Avoiding warm baths Using lotion containing calamine or menthol If after handling the above complaints you are still settled then you should consult your doctor about complaints this in order to get further handling. If the itching is very heavy and disturbing then your doctor can prescribe an antihistamine itching drug to help reduce the itching.
