Good night. I’ve had a fish allergy since I was little. I want to ask, how do I get rid of this fish allergy that I am experiencing? So how do you deal with swelling when you’re allergic?

1 Answer:

Hello Mr. Viany

Allergy is an immune reaction to an allergen. Allergens or substances that trigger allergies only affect the person who has the allergy. In others, the allergen will not trigger an immune reaction. Some types of substances that can cause allergic reactions include insect bites, dust mites, animal dander, drugs, certain foods, and pollen. Allergy symptoms vary widely from mild to severe which can be life threatening. Symptoms that appear are swollen, red, and watery eyes, sneezing, coughing, shortness of breath, skin rash, runny nose, stomach pain, vomiting, fainting and so on. Each person's allergic reaction is different depending on how the immune system responds to the allergen.

Basically allergies can not be cured, but can be controlled. People who have allergies should avoid being exposed to these allergens at all times. So you should avoid consuming fish. If accidentally exposed and allergic symptoms arise, you can immediately take antihistamine drugs such as CTM. If the allergic reaction is so severe that it causes you to suffocate or faint, then immediately go to the hospital so that you get fast treatment. If you have had a severe allergic reaction or what is known as anaphylactic shock, it can be life-threatening in a very short time.

To find out other allergens that can cause allergies in you, consult your doctor. The doctor will perform a physical examination and supporting examinations such as skin prick tests to find out other allergens.

Hopefully useful, thank you
