Overcoming Itching In Children Who Do Not Go Away Due To Caterpillars?
At night … at my house there was a caterpillar attack, my family was affected by everyone in the house including my 2.5 year old son who was hit by the most severe bumps. It’s been a week itching and bumps continue to occur especially when the body is exposed to water when take a shower, even the small bumps that have recurred immediately become big bumps again. I want to ask, what is the solution so that itching does not recur again when exposed to water ??? Note: I have tried bathing somewhere else but still recurred the former bumps affected by the caterpillar.
Hello Ahmad, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com.
Due to complaints that have been experienced by your child for 1 week and have not improved, it is advisable to check the complaint further to the doctor for further evaluation whether there are other conditions beyond the skin reaction to caterpillars that accompany your child's complaints such as allergic reaction to water / cold / heat other things.
Meanwhile, at home, you can pay more attention to whether there are other things (besides bathing) that also worsen or trigger complaints again. It is also recommended to try using cold water for bathing to help reduce complaints. You can also give itching relievers like CTM according to the dosage on the package until there is further advice from the doctor who treats your child. If you want to use salicyl / calamin powder, it is also permissible to help reduce complaints.
It is also advisable to maintain the cleanliness of the area of the house, bed, and also your child's clothes to be free from dust, mites and other animals / insects to prevent worsening and repetition of complaints to your child.
I hope this helps.
