Overcoming Keloid Surgical Scars In The Breast?
Hello, I am 20 years old. I have a keloid around my breast because of a surgery. Is it safe to inject the keloid in the breast? Or are there side effects?
Good afternoon Mira, thank you for the question.
Based on research, injecting drugs to reduce keloids is allowed for keloids that occur postoperatively in the breast, as long as they do not have the following:
Existence of infection in the keloid Allergy to the drug to be injected Having certain skin diseases that will become worse if given an injection of keloid medication Suffers from tuberculosis or fungal infections of the disease Stomach ulcers Suffer from diabetes, heart failure and high blood pressure Suffer from severe depression and other mental disorders Severe side effects that may be caused when the injection is:
the existence of pain when injecting thinning of the skin around the keloid onset of acne after injection of a small blood vessel dilation of the possibility of recurrence of keloids (about 9-50%) It is better before deciding to do the injection of keloids, you should consult first with a dermatologist, to be assessed whether keloids that arise require injection or can be helped removed with other therapies.
I hope this helps.
