Overcoming Mucus Buildup In The Lungs To Shortness Of Breath?
I want to ask, my spupu has an infection in the lungs where there is fluid / mucus that closes, causing shortness of breath. But every time you cough, you don’t have mucus / phlegm. Meanwhile, what I know is that a lung disease with an infection is prone to sputum out. Then what happens if the mucus / phlegm doesn’t come out? Please explain, doctor, thank you🙏
Infections of the lungs that cause fluid or mucus buildup in the lungs, there are many, with their respective symptoms. Here are some possible diseases that can cause fluid buildup in the lungs and in the lining of the lung:
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Heart failure complications
Not all of the conditions above cause a cough with phlegm. Therefore, further tests are needed to determine what infection your cousin has. In general, when mucus builds up in the airways, it can cause airway constriction, shortness of breath, and hear additional breath sounds.
I suggest that you ask directly with the pulmonologist who treats your cousin about the cause of your cousin's complaint or what infection your cousin has because the treating doctor is the one who understands your cousin's condition better. You can also discuss the next steps needed for handling. It is better if your cousin takes medicines from a doctor according to the doctor's instructions and controls according to the schedule given. Try to keep cousin's house smoke-free, get enough rest, use a mask when outside the room, improve ventilation and lighting at home, and consume healthy and nutritious food.
Hope this helps,
