Overcoming Nausea, Dizziness And Vomiting After Consumption Of Expired Sausages
I have a high fever, dizziness, nausea, vomiting after eating an expired sausage and it’s a little better after I drink coconut water and see my doctor. Only I was given paracetamol. Is there no need for antibiotics when my condition is like this?

Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Seeing the symptoms that you experience accompanied by a history of eating expired food, chances are you experience is an infection of the digestive tract. Gastrointestinal infections can be caused by viruses or bacteria. Gastrointestinal infections due to viruses do not require therapy with antibiotics, even gastrointestinal infections due to bacteria do not all require antibiotics. Mild infections (symptoms are not too severe) are usually not treated with antibiotics.
The main therapy for gastrointestinal infections due to food poisoning is supportive therapy, which is giving fluids to replace fluids lost from vomiting or diarrhea. Therefore, you should try to drink more fluids to replace fluids lost from your vomiting. You can drink any liquid, but liquids that contain electrolytes (such as ORS, coconut water, electrolyte drinks, fruit juices, etc.) are preferable to drinking only water. You can take your paracetamol if you still have a fever, after your fever is gone, you may stop taking it. If indeed your symptoms still continue after 3 days, you can see your doctor again. Make sure you pay close attention to the foods you eat, make sure you only eat foods that are guaranteed clean and do not eat expired foods again.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
