Sumagesic tab r nAt first, on June 7, after waking up, suddenly my right cheek under my ear was swollen, because I was worried I went to the hospital and was given medicine like the one above. I also bought a cutus oil topical medicine to apply. Surprisingly, it is late in the evening, it is flat, but in the morning it is a bit swollen. After taking the medicine, I rubbed the cutus oil and compressed warm water, the swelling could gradually go down, but after eating and chewing the food I felt, the swelling suddenly appeared again. To note, I have no fever, and when the blood pressure was checked it was also normal. According to the doctor who checked for possible problems in the salivary glands. How to solve and is this serious and dangerous? What should I do for further treatment and examination? Thank you. R n r nGreetings-Arnold
Hi Arnold, Thank you for the question.
Swollen cheeks can be caused by:
mumps blockage of the salivary glands / sialoliths infection of the salivary glands / sialodenitis tumors of the salivary glands infection of the teeth inflammation of the gums. You can return to consult with the doctor who previously treated you or consult an ENT specialist for further examination, especially if this complaint does not improve after consuming the medicine given by the doctor. The doctor may recommend further tests such as X-rays or ultrasound. In the meantime, please continue taking the medicine from your doctor until you have another checkup. You can do a warm compress on the swollen part.
Hope this information is helpful.
