Thank you for the question.
Excessive cleaning of the ears with a cotton bud can indeed cause injury and inflammation in the ear. Not only pain, inflammation in the ear can also make the ear canal swell to interfere with hearing. In addition, this inflammation can also trigger excessive discharge of ear secretions which, if it flows inside the ear, might cause the sensation of moving water as you experience it. It could also be, the sensation of water moving in your ear is caused by the spread of inflammation in your external ear (otitis externa) to the deeper area, namely the middle ear (otitis media), even the inner ear which is important in regulating balance. In addition to the conditions above, complaints that you still feel at this time can also occur due to the entry of foreign bodies into the ear, Eustachian tube dysfunction, tinnitus, psychological disorders, and several other medical conditions.
Your condition should be examined directly by a doctor or ENT doctor for further evaluation, such as by otoscopy, hearing function tests, or also other examination modalities. Depending on the cause of the complaint, the doctor can treat you differently later, it can be given enough medicine, carried out ear irrigation, or also other treatments.
In the meantime, the pain that appears can you relieve first by taking the drug paracetamol. Don't forget, keep your ears dry and clean. Avoid carelessly inserting anything into the ear (including water or cotton bud) and also avoid excessive exposure to noise (including when using headphones).
Hope this helps ...
