Pain And Heartburn After Surgical Removal Of The Uterus?
, my mother this morning after the operation to remove the uterus. But until 7 o’clock in the evening now she still feels aching pain and mules like a childbirth. Already given painkillers. Is that normal?
Hello Lia Listiawati,
There are several types of surgery to remove the uterus or hysterectomy, namely:
radical hysterectomy, removal of the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix, upper part of the vagina, fatty tissue and surrounding lymph nodes. usually done on cancer patients
total hysterectomy, the removal involves only the uterus and cervix
Subtotal hysterectomy, which is only part of the uterus that is removed without removing other parts such as the cervix.
There are two types of removal procedures, namely conventionally, namely by making an incision in the abdomen and another MIP technique (minimal invasion procedure). The MIP technique has the advantage of a shorter healing period, in conventional procedures the recovery time can last anywhere from 6-8 weeks
Complaints experienced by your mother are normal, especially if the procedure to remove the uterus is done using conventional techniques so that more bleeding occurs which makes your mother feel pain or mules. Therefore patients will usually be treated for about 5 days before being allowed to go home in order to receive close supervision by the medical team. You don't need to worry, and make sure your mother consumes a balanced nutritious diet in addition to taking medications given by the doctor to speed up the recovery process.
that's all, hopefully it's enough to answer yes
