Pain As If Giving Birth?
Night. I am an expectant mother at 8 months, and this is my second pregnancy. This afternoon I suddenly felt a aching waist that if remembered like pain will give birth, but now the pain has disappeared. Is that what is called a fake contraction? Is it not bad? What should I do if it happens again? Thank you in advance.
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
Basically every pregnant woman will feel a fake contraction or also called Braxton Hicks contraction. These fake contractions have actually occurred since early pregnancy and have begun to be felt since the second trimester of pregnancy, and will be stronger and more frequent before the time of delivery. These contractions can indeed cause pain such as labor contractions, but different from labor contractions, these fake contractions occur irregularly, do not get stronger, disappear with activity or rest.
There is nothing you need to worry about if this fake contraction occurs again and there is nothing you need to do also to prevent the occurrence of false contractions. Fake contractions are not dangerous for you or your fetus, and also will not cause premature labor. When a fake contraction occurs, you can continue your activities, or sit resting until the pain disappears. If you feel these contractions occur more often, more regularly, and more strongly, then the possibility that happens is labor contractions. If labor contractions occur before 37 weeks' gestation, go to the hospital immediately.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
