Hello Cacanadia, thank you for the question for HealthReplies.com
Pain in the back of the hand can be caused by several things, including:
Pain originating from the bones, for example a fracture or fracture or a fractured hand bone, infection of the bone
Pain originating in the joints, eg osteoarthritis of the carpal or metacarpal bones, rheumatoid arthritis
Pain originating from the muscles around the back of the hand, for example there is inflammation of the back muscles of the hand, excessive use of the hands (muscle overuse)
Pain originating from the supporting tissues around the bones and muscles (tendons and ligaments)
Pain originating from the nerves, eg peripheral neuropathy, Carpal tunnel syndrome, etc.
To be sure, you should check with a doctor. The doctor can perform a physical examination first to ascertain the origin of the pain you are feeling, and ask for investigations if necessary. Some of the supporting examinations that can be ordered include X-rays, CT scans, EMG (electromyogram), etc.
For now a few things you can do:
Rest your hands for a while.
If there is swelling, you can apply a cold compress for the first 3 days.
If there is no swelling or it has passed 3 days after the cold compress, you can compress your hands with a warm compress.
You should not do rough hand massage, do gentle massage you can do.
You can also use a hand bandage to minimize movement in your wrist area to reduce pain
So much information from me, hopefully it will be enough to answer
