If I don’t eat / drink vitamin C, it never happens. What do the doctors think? Can you help me? thank you
Hello Firmansyah, thank you for your question
Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin that the body needs to produce collagen. Collagen plays an important role in the health and repair of tissues, especially bone and cartilage, teeth, and skin. Vitamin C can be obtained from daily food, such as oranges, tomatoes, lemons, pineapples, papayas, chilies, potatoes, peppers, broccoli, and also through vitamin C supplementation.
Normally, the dose of vitamin C the body needs is around 25-75 mg per day. This dose can be higher if there is a deficiency of vitamin C in the body. It is better not to take vitamin C in too large a dose in the long term considering the side effects it can cause, such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, to the formation of urinary tract stones.
Regarding the complaints that you are currently feeling, there may be problems in your urinary tract, either due to infection or urinary tract stones. It would be nice if you see a specialist in internal medicine. In addition to performing a physical examination, the doctor will also recommend additional tests such as urine tests to assisted imaging with ultrasound or X-rays of the abdominal cavity. After determining the underlying cause of your complaint, then your doctor can take the appropriate treatment steps. While waiting for doctor's treatment, you should:
increase the consumption of water, at least 2- 3 liters per day
avoid the habit of holding back urination
for the time being, it's best to stop the habit of taking supplements that contain high doses of vitamin C
So, hopefully it's useful
