Pain In The Legs During Exercise After Injection Of Varicose Veins?
good morning doksaya rio I want to ask last week I injected my varicose veins. a week later I was running and my knees hurt a lot. is that reasonable?
Hello Arioo, Thank you for the question.
Where are the varicose veins undergoing injection therapy? Do complaints of knee pain occur when you are active or after running? Do you experience other complaints such as knee joint stiffness, swollen or red knee joints, knee joints ringing, or other complaints?
Complaints about pain in the knee are most likely not related to the varicose injection therapy you are experiencing. This complaint can be caused by a number of other conditions such as:
excessive running activity
sprained knee ligaments
torn knee ligament
You are advised to consult a doctor immediately if this complaint has occurred for some time or if the complaint is accompanied by swollen and red knees, knee stiffness or ringing, or the knee is difficult to straighten. The doctor needs to ask further about your complaints and do a check on you including supporting examinations such as x-rays, ultrasound, or MRI. From this examination, the doctor will find out the cause and can provide appropriate treatment.
For now, you can avoid excessive physical activity, especially those that are burdensome to the knee joint. You can do a cold compress in the first 3 days followed by a warm compress on the sore knee. Please also take paracetamol or other pain relievers if the pain is very disturbing complaints.
Hope this answer helps.
