Pain In The Legs Feels Stiff And Difficult To Bend After 7 Months Of Knee Fracture Surgery?
I have 7 months postoperative patellar knee fracture, but like to feel pain when standing up to 2jm more or up and down stairs as many as 120 stairs (MRT steps). anti-pain medication such as diclofenac or other and I compress with cold water. Until when I can approximately not feel pain like this on my ex-knee operation.Thank youFerry
Good evening, thanks for the question
Broken knee bones are classified into severe bone injuries which will cause motor disturbances to difficulty walking in sufferers. In general, handling knee fractures can be non-operative or operative. Simple knee fractures that are not accompanied by bone displacement can be treated with the installation of cast or splint for some time until the bone will connect.
Whereas in more severe conditions, which is accompanied by a shift in bone fracture, surgery may be needed to stabilize the fracture so that bone healing can occur normally. Afterwards, what is also important is the management of pain and rehabilitation. Rehabilitation is very important to do because of the risk of joint stiffness and weakness in the thigh muscles during the recovery period.
Rehabilitation aims to handle the limitations of movement, strengthen leg muscles, and reduce muscle stiffness.
In your case the duration of recovery will depend on:
1. The severity of the knee injury
2. Non-operative or operative therapy
3. The duration of medical rehabilitation
Recovery generally takes place within 3-6 months after injury. However, recovery can take longer if the knee fracture is classified as severe. In your case if you still have symptoms, you should do a routine evaluation with an orthopedic specialist. Post-injury routine control is needed to assess the bone healing process. If you find that there are complications during bone healing, it is very possible that symptoms can still be felt. Adequate medical rehabilitation is also needed to help with daily activities and improve quality of life after injury.
That's all, hope you can help.
