Pain In The Scars Caused By Childbirth Is Normal?
Good afternoon, doc. I only have 1 week to give birth, but I feel sore when I urinate and also feel pain after urinating. Is that normal or dangerous ?? How do I deal with it so it does not hurt. Thank you
Good evening, thanks for the question
Tears in the birth canal are quite common when labor is normal. Tears can occur due to factors giving birth to a first child, giving birth with the help of forceps, heavy birth weight of the baby, prolonged straining, a history of third or fourth degree tears in previous labor, and the position of breech babies. Tear that is considered to be deep enough then suturing must be performed to restore its normal function after the birth process.
If the stitching wound has not fully healed then it is natural that there are still complaints of pain in the wound, especially when exposed to urine flow when urinating. To reduce pain or pain when urinating can be rinsed using warm water in the area of the former stitches from the front to the back. Afterwards dry with a tissue or clean cloth.
In order for the wound to heal quickly, always maintain personal hygiene by bathing regularly, changing pads regularly, and avoid using loose pants.
Signs that need to watch out for are indicative of injury complications including:
1. Remove bad odors
2. High fever
3. Feels very painful around the genitals
4. Spilling blood clots from the vagina
That's all, hope you can help.
