Hello
Pain in the thigh is mostly a muscle pain, or is called myalgia. Muscle pain can occur due to several conditions, such as overexertion, sprains, or a blow to the thigh. This condition can be treated simply, namely by resting the sore thigh, doing a light massage, and applying a cold compress for 10-15 minutes.
In certain cases, thigh pain can be caused by pinching the nerves in the thigh. This condition is called meralgia paresthica (MP). Symptoms include burning, pain, and numbness in the thigh, especially the upper part. This nerve entrapment is usually based on the following risk factors, namely using tight thigh stockings, often standing for too long, obesity, pregnancy, postoperative complications around the thigh, a history of diabetes, or a history of injury due to seat belts in traffic accidents.
Because the cause is not specific, you should immediately consult your doctor. With direct examination and additional examinations such as X-rays, MRI (if indicated) is expected to determine the cause of your thigh pain. The best treatment will be adjusted to the cause found.
