I used to run regularly 2-3 times a week.
Hello Kurnia Farman,
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a disorder in the form of thickening of the heart muscle that can affect blood flow in the heart. Most patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy do not give any complaints. Some experience progressively worsening symptoms such as:
Chest pain that feels like being pressed by a heavy load or like being tied Shortness of breath, especially when on the move Easily fatigued Palpitations or palpitations , and other unknown causes. The diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is made through history taking (interviews about the history of the disease), physical examination, and supporting examinations electrocardiography, echocardiography, catheterization, etc. If indeed it is diagnosed with this disorder the administration of heart medications will be adjusted to the patient's symptoms, needs, and current conditions. Further consultation can be done with a cardiologist.
Lifestyle modifications that are appropriate, especially the sport that is done. In some cases patients are still able to do light aerobic exercise (for example: jogging). However, it is not recommended to do strenuous exercise that requires a lot of energy and triggers the heart. Patients are recommended for routine control to the doctor to monitor the progress of the disease. Limitation of fluid consumed per day is given to patients who have symptoms of heart failure. Thus the explanation from me, may be useful.
