Planning Another Pregnancy After Miscarriage?
Hello doctor..rnI’ve been married for 2 years and this is my first pregnancy..rnMy HPHT was on January 21 2018, my test in month 2 was still negative.. and the test on March 23, 2018 was positive.. rnI had an ultrasound still thickening the uterine wall.. so I was only given vitamins by the doctor.rnBut during pregnancy a week after that I felt pain in my back and heavy bleeding..rnI went to the midwife and was diagnosed with my womb weak and then given medicine to stop the bleeding and a booster injection.. then the bleeding stopped.. but a week later the bleeding came back with the same amount and I also had a bad cold cough, I came back to the midwife and was given a booster injection and was given medicine for my flu .. but when I got home there came out a jelly-like blood clot accompanied by blood..rnBut I didn’t feel any stomach pain/cramps. Like people who miscarry in general.. I took another test and the result was negative.rnrnIs that normal?rnWhat should I do after that?rnDo I need an ultrasound because my parents have had miscarriages too if ad left stomach will hurt..but I can’t feel anything..rnAnd how long can I plan the program again?rnPlease enlighten me..thank you
Miscarriage is a condition in which the products of conception come out when the gestational age has not reached 20 weeks or if the fetus weighs less than 500 grams. Miscarriage can cause complaints of bleeding and pain or abdominal cramps accompanied by tissue discharge.
There are several types of miscarriage, namely:
Threat of miscarriage but the fetus can still be saved: efforts are made to save the fetus, for example with uterine-strengthening drugs Miscarriage in progress: the fetus cannot be saved, given medicine to help clean the uterus or with curettage Incomplete miscarriage: there is still tissue in the uterus, given medicine for cleaning the uterus or with curettage Complete miscarriage: the uterus is clean, no special treatment is needed To confirm the condition of the uterus, it can't just be done with a test pack and an ultrasound examination should be done. Therefore I suggest that you check with your obstetrician again so that an ultrasound can be done to find out whether the uterus is clean or not. The next treatment will be adjusted to the condition of your uterus.
In general, after a miscarriage, women are advised to delay pregnancy for 3 months or 3 times the menstrual cycle. This is useful to give time for the uterus to recover, the mother's physical condition to improve, and mentally the mother is ready to get pregnant again. But this of course can be different depending on the condition of each mother. You can discuss further with your obstetrician about the best time to get pregnant again.
