Porridge Consumption After 7 Days Of Tonsillectomy?
Good afternoon I finished my tonsillectomy 7 days ago precisely last Monday. now can I consume porridge with sausages? Sausages are not added with the sauce of course.
Hello Oka, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
After having tonsillectomy or called tonsillectomy, a person will usually experience painful swallowing during the first few weeks. Therefore patients will usually be advised to consume foods that are soft and easy to swallow first. You must of course continue to consume foods with complete nutrition (not only rice porridge), but you also still need to consume protein (such as meat, fish, eggs, tofu, tempeh, etc.) and fiber (such as from vegetables and fruit) . The processing must be adjusted to your eating ability. You can process meat / fish to be softer and mix with your rice porridge, chop the vegetables until smooth, and drink fruit juice. You can also consume sausages, but you need to remember that sausages are processed meat whose nutrition is not as good as fresh meat and high in salt. We recommend the consumption of sausages in small amounts only.
As long as your throat still hurts, you should avoid eating foods that are too hard (such as chips, fried foods), foods that are acidic and spicy, and foods that are too hot. Drinking cold drinks or eating ice cream can help reduce pain in the throat.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
