Possible Pregnancy After Surgery To Remove Ovarian Cysts?
Hello .. r nSy is 29 years old, bru mnikah 4 months. I just found out that I have a 16cm ovarian cyst. The doctor suggested that it be removed surgically. The doctor said like it had been a long time .. BAK BAK smoothly, menstruation smoothly, weight gain, flatulence, often nausea but not vomiting. My question is this dangerous? Can it recover? Can you still have children? Thank you
Good evening, thanks for the question
A cyst is a sac that contains fluid in it. Cysts can appear in any organ, one of which is the ovary or ovary.
There are several types of ovarian cysts. There are functional cysts, namely benign ovarian cysts formed by the ovulation process, referred to as follicular cysts and luteal cysts. Other types of ovarian cysts such as endometrioma, dermoid cysts, cystadenomas. There is also a type of polycystic ovarian where there are many small cysts in the ovary which if not handled properly will cause fertility problems.
Symptoms of ovarian cyst include:
- Lumps or mass in the lower abdomen
- Lower stomach pain
- Lower back pain
- Menstrual pain
- Pain during sex
- Nauseous vomit
The diagnosis is made through the symptoms above, pelvic physical examination, and investigations such as ultrasound, CT scan or MRI.
Handling this condition can be by giving birth control pills to prevent the formation of new cysts or operative measures if the cysts are> 5 cm in size by laparoscopy or laparotomy.
Ovarian cysts in premenopausal age like you have a fairly good prognosis / disease progression. Fertility disorders are usually related to ovarian cysts caused by polycystic ovaries or endometriomas. Whereas functional cysts do not affect the fertility of the sufferer, unless they have a large size as in your case so surgery is recommended.
Laparoscopic procedures are now preferred because of small incision wounds and faster recovery. Besides taking a cyst mass, surgery is also needed to assess whether the cyst is benign or malignant so that a definite diagnosis can be made. If the diagnosis is certain then treatment can be more directed.
Make further consultations with obstetricians for more complete information. That's all, hope you can help
